BFA Teams Return From Great Lakes Alliance Competition With Great Success

GLA.gif

The BFA younger teams (U10, U12 Boys, U14 Boys and U13 Girls) travelled to Erie, Pennsylvania on September 26 to compete against U.S. club teams from Erie, Buffalo, Rochester, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. The Great Lakes Alliance is a group of U.S. Clubs and Canadian teams that compete on a regular basis in the spring and fall of each year. Bryst FA has been part of this alliance for the last four years. (http://www.glasoccer.net)

This year, the U10 team won all three of their games against Erie Admirals, Penns Forest (Pittsburgh) and Century United (Pittsburgh). This is the second year in a row that the U10 team has gone undefeated.

The U12 Boys team, playing 11-aside for the first time all year, won all three of their games against Century United, Northern Steel (Pittsburgh) and Erie Admirals. This team played exceptionally well for their first time on the full field.

The U14 Boys team won two games and tied one against Century United, Erie Admirals and Pittsburgh Rangers. This team also played exceptionally well against strong opposition.

The U13 Girls team won one game and lost two close games to Century United, Excalibur (Cleveland) and Northern Steel. The girls played well and could have won all three games.

Well done to all of the BFA teams and their coaches.
