The Canadian Soccer Association has upheld SAAC's appeal for membership to the OSA. This forces the OSA to re-visit the SAAC application as an Associate Member.

SAAC originally had submitted an application to OSA in 2005 and then re-submitted in 2008. In 2009, FIFA have also requested all National Associations to register all Academy players.
