U.S. University Coaches Evaluate Canadian Players in Summer Camp

Two U.S. University coaches will be visiting the Toronto area in the first week of July to train and evaluate Canadian players. They will train and evaluate the Bryst Top Dogs players during the mornings and the BFA players in the evening. The training sessions will begin on Monday, July 5 and finish on Friday, July 9.

Dan McCarty is the Head Men's Coach of Seton Hill University in Greensberg, Pennsylvania. Dan is entering his seventh season and has his NSCAA National License. Seton Hill is an NCAA Division 2 school that plays in the West Virginia Conference. Seton Hill signed Paul Cornelius of the BFA in 2009, and have signed Stefan Walcott and Matt Luchetti of the BFA for 2010.

Club players that are interested in being assessed and trained by these coaches should contact the Bryst office.

Bryst Teams Travel To Barcelona, Spain

Bryst International will be travelling to Barcelona, Spain in August for exhibition games with professional club Youth Academy Teams. Bryst will take three teams at U15 boys, U17 boys and U17 girls on August 17-25. Each team will play 3-4 games against Spanish opposition.

This is the seventh year that Bryst has travelled internationally with their teams. Previous locations have included Norway, England, Germany, France, Brazil, Italy and Portugal.

This is a great opportunity for young players to test themselves against European opposition. Male players use these trips to get assessed by European coaches. Female players use this competition as experience for future university level play at Canadian or US Universities.

Any players that are interested in this trip should contact the Bryst office.

BFA Players Sign With U.S. University

Stefan Walcott and Matthew Luchetti of the BFA Under 21 Men's Team have just signed with Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Seton Hill is a member of the NCAA Division Two program. They will join Paul Cornelius of the BFA U21 Team at Seton Hill. Cornelius signed in 2009 and was Freshman of the Year.

Walcott and Luchetti joined the BFA in 2006 and have competed in the SAAC programs for the last four years. They are scheduled to compete for the U21 Team this year in the OSL.

Congratulations to Stefan and Matthew for a job well done and good luck for your future.

"I thank you for all you have done to help make this possible, and as always the Walcott family will continue to support Bryst and the positive contribution you continue make to the development of your academy members." (Mike Walcott)

"I want to thank-you, your coaching staff and administrators for the support and guidance you have all provided Matthew over the last  four years. Matthew’s first experience with Bryst was in Top Dogs. The thing that impressed us most at that time was Bryst’s philosophy on individual player development. Matthew’s disadvantage in the club system had always been his size. There was no question on his ability or skill, but he was cut from rep teams solely for his stature.  At Bryst, Matthew was given the opportunity to flourish in a comfortable and safe environment that promotes player development; respect for coaches, officials, parents  and each other while instilling confidence and sportsmanship in each and every athlete. Paul, Dimitri and yourself have had the largest positive influence on Matt’s success and has he starts his Seton Hill adventure, I’m sure he will take with him what he learned while at Bryst." (John and Franca Luchetti)
